Why it works?

Have you ever met an old friend and said that you wanted to get together for lunch?  Chances are, you wont follow through with your well intentioned promise.  However, if you agree on day to meet and a location, then you are more likely to meet for lunch.  Even if something comes up that day, you will likely reschedule.

A CleanTract works on the same principle.  Instead of putting you old clothes in a pile in the garage with the intention of donating them, decide where the clothes are going to go before putting them into a box.  The mental planning prepares you to execute on your plan.

The CleanTract concept was developed by Ward Greunke who writes a blog LatentValue.blogspot.com.  Ward's blog provides recommendations to companies on how to use Behavioral Science to improve the value of their product or service.  Ward has an MBA from the Santa Clara Leavey School of Business and a BSME.

What is a Cleantract Label

A CleanTract is a commitment that you make to yourself to donate your clothes if they are not used within a year.  When you plan your actions, you are more likely to successfully follow through.

Simple put the clothes that you want to donate but want to wait a little longer in a box and fill out a CleanTract label.  Be sure to include where you will make the donation and sign your name.  After a year has gone by and you have not worn the clothes then simply take them to the location listed on the label.
